Finance

Given that my car maintenance light just came on, I thought this article was timely. Just Start Investing goes over some simple ways you can save on auto costs. While I’m not the handiest person on the planet, I thought some of these were doable. See what you think and if it can help you save! The Cost of Car Maintenance: 9 Ways to Lower Your Expenses

Another way to cut expenses is to get rid of cable. Does anyone even watch cable anymore? I personally got rid of mine over a year ago. I just pay for internet and subscription services for Amazon, Netflix and Hulu. My total comes to $91 per month (That’s prorating my annual Amazon prime service, the cost for Netflix and Hulu and the cost of my internet). My original payment before cutting cable was $151 per month. So quite a bit of savings there, and I definitely don’t miss cable. If you’re someone that needs to see live TV though, there is a way to do it for free. The Frugal Physician discovered it as well: get an antenna. She describes the one she uses in her post I’m Bringing Antennas Back. She gets 40 channels, crystal clear, for free! Check it out and see if this is an option for you.

Guys Black Friday is coming! If you love to shop this time of year ( I definitely do, I feel like I can get the best deals and stock up on certain items for the year), then this post by Girl October is for you. She shares some shopping tips on how to approach Black Friday so that you get what you need without breaking the bank. Namely, this is a great time to get started on Christmas shopping! Life

With the holidays coming up, and all these gourmet meals to look forward to, I”m sure alot of people are freaking out about their diets going out the window, or get it in their heads that they need to be super strict with themselves. Stiletto MD goes over some bad food habits that we tend to fall into, one of them being this idea that we have to punish ourselves when we eat poorly. Let’s get out of this cycle, and maybe just enjoy the meals this year? See what she’s talking about in Do You Have an Unhealthy Food Relationship? Avoid These 4 Food Habits

On that same note, check out her post on avoiding weight gain this holiday season: Holiday Weight Gain Averted: 6 Tips to Enjoy Without Guilt. Happy Eating!

Staying in tune with the holidays, I’d like to share a post by Saving Joyfully on her favorite quotes on joy and why she chooses it. I think it’s a great way to kick off the season and hopefully provides you with some uplifting and inspiration. MY TOP 20 FAVORITE QUOTES ON JOY – WHY I CHOOSE JOY
