This week: Estate planning; finding the target on your back; mistakes we make when we meet people; finding true happiness;

How many times have we heard the phrase “work smarter, not harder”? I know I’ve said this on many occasions myself. However, there are times when working harder is better and even necessary.  Side Hustle Scrubs says so too in Working Smarter vs Harder. Check it out and see if you agree!

This article is not from a blog, but I found it to by an interesting read from the Wall Street Journal.  It discusses judgement mistakes that we make when we meet people, and how those critical first impressions we get can often be wrong.  Read more at The Mistake’s You Make in a Meeting’s First Milliseconds.

My dad just had this conversation with me a couple of weeks ago, telling me about “trusts” and how I should make one when I purchase a place of my own.  So finding this article by Dads Making Cents was particularly timely.  They go over the difference between wills and trusts and the tax implications of each.  Admittedly, this is boring adult level information that people usually choose not to think about, or think they have plenty of time to figure out. However, as we all know, getting on top of this kind of thing is only beneficial. Plus,knowledge is power! Check out the article so you can empower yourself! Estate Planning Showdown: Wills v Trusts

The Physician Philosopher cautions physicians when they put their financial trust in outside entities.  Not everyone is going to have your best interest at heart.  Read more at 5 Attributes That Make You an Easy Financial Target.  I have friends who’ve been targeted and it didn’t end well.  So, watch your back folks!

As I’m pretty sure everyone figured out by my first blog post, I’m an avid traveller.  I’ve found that even just planning a trip puts me in my happy place.  So, you can imagine what its like for me when I actually get to my destination in whatever corner of the world I find myself in.  MikedUp Blog shares a story that reflects that happiness you get when you see a new place, experience new things, and come to some major life realizations.  See what I mean, and what he shares, at I Found True Happiness on the Far Side of the World.
